Vest Styles and modifications

Klingon Captain from "A Matter Of Honor"  Note: he  does not have the back pocket, but everything else is the same as the standard Captain's Vest.

The vest worn by Commander Kruge was the first incarnation of the vest.  Designed by Robert Fletcher for The Search For Spock, it has the sewn channels going oppisite to what is now the standard vest, and has no pockets.  Picture from The Art of Star Trek.

The cloak worn by Picard in Sins of a Father has the front detail  stitched channels like that of Kruge's vest.  The cloak is a pale grey, has no pockets but does have sleeves.  It has the detailing on the upper shoulder section, and the center and side vents on the lower back section.

Like the R'Ussti cloak from the third season episode "The Bonding ", The vest Worf wears is basically the same.  The upper front detailing is the same.  The front lower section had lines running down vertically.  The front and upper back section are of a metallic silver, while the lower back is a darker grey fabric with no shimmer.  The back venting is the same as the standard vest.

Quark wearing a silver vest as head of the House of Quark,a DS9 episode of the same name.  The vest does not have a hood, and the sewn detailing on the upper back is slightly different then the usual vest.  The lower back vest has the usual  venting, and is a darker grey fabric with no shimmer.  Note:  The upper back detail lines are different to the one worn by Worf.

As the groom, Worf wears a gold metallic vest, trimmed in red piping from the DS9 episode "You Are Cordially Invited".  Perhaps this was influenced by the gold metallic costumes of the klingons in the original Star Trek series.

Back of vest

Sirrela's vest is an other modification.  It is made of cordaroy or some other heavey fabric in a paisley(yuk)pattern.  The front is the same as the standard vest but has no padded ridges.  The back has side vents, but no upper shoulder ridged padding.
